Compact Fluorescent light bulbs, or CFLs, are an energy-efficient alternative to traditional incandescent and halogen lights. They use less energy than these kinds of lights, although they use more energy than comparable LED models. CFLs are ideal for use in offices, kitchens, hallways, and other areas that need a large area of light. Because they produce about 75% less heat than incandescent bulbs, they keep rooms they light cooler than traditional lights would.
